Books for SafePlace
cPubs employees, clients, and their children collected over 900 books for the children of SafePlace during the two-week cPubs Summer 2009 SafePlace Book Drive. SafePlace is an Austin-based non-profit organization (safeplace.org).

cPubs Wins Two International Awards
cPubs won the top-level Technical Arts Distinguished Award at the 2008 STC International Competition as recognition for its work on the 2007 Dell Sustainability Report. The award recognizes outstanding accomplishments in visually communicating technical concepts.

The work also won one of the four top awards in the Sustainability Annual Report competition held by the Ceres coalition. Nominees included Nike, Gap, American Airlines, General Motors, and Hewlett-Packard.

The Society for Technical Communication (STC) is a professional organization dedicated to advancing the arts and sciences of technical communication. STC has more than 20,000 members and 153 chapters worldwide.

The cPubs Web Content Team recently completed development of its 60th website for Schlumberger, a global organization. The websites range from simple to highly complex internal and external sites. cPubs has been providing web development services for Schlumberger divisions around the world since 1995.

cPubs Partners with Knowbility
cPubs and Knowbility have partnered to bring Knowbility's accessibility services to cPubs' technology clients. A non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, Knowbility helps corporations and other organizations adapt their products and services to meet federal and state mandates for accessibility for people with disabilities.

Knowbility's services include:

  • Assessing the accessibility of the client's website content, product user interfaces, and support documentation and training
  • Providing technical guidance during the development of the website, user interface, and supporting documentation and training
  • Training client staff on the "how-to's" and other accessibility topics

cPubs Marks 75th Dell Training Project
The cPubs Learning Development Team recently marked the completion of their 75th training project for Dell Inc. The training projects have included interactive web-based courses, classroom instruction and materials, and blended solutions. Students have included Dell and third-party engineering groups, product support staff, and inside-sales personnel throughout the U.S., Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

"When you call Dell to order your computer, the Dell sales rep you talk to may have received some of their product or service knowledge from one of our courses," says Jane Scott, CEO.

cPubs has successfully served Dell for over seven years in various Human Resources, Learning, Engineering, and Information Development departments. cPubs' services have included instructional design, writing, graphics and multimedia development, quality assurance, translation management, audio in multiple languages, project management, and process improvement.

cPubs CEO Accepted into "Birthing of Giants" Program on MIT Campus
Our CEO, Jane Scott, has been accepted into the third and final year of the Birthing of Giants - Class of 2004. Ranked by Inc. Magazine as the #1 executive educational program of its kind, "BOG" is jointly hosted by the MIT Enterprise Forum, Inc. Magazine, and the Young Entrepreneurs' Organization (YEO). Held on the MIT campus, this program brings together young entrepreneurs from around the world once a year for a period of three years. Attendance is limited to 60 participants who are selected from a worldwide field of applicants by representatives of MIT, Inc. Magazine, and YEO.

The program's intense leadership-focused curriculum covers the six fundamental areas of business: Management, Finance, Human Resources, Marketing & Sales, Operations, and Research & Development. The faculty consists of the best in entrepreneurial professors from MIT, Harvard, and Babson, as well as the world's top entrepreneurs from the pages of Inc. Magazine.

The BOG program has graduated participants around the globe, and has "birthed" such entrepreneurial giants as Ted Leonsis (AOL) and Jim McCann (1-800-FLOWERS).
