Dell Annual Sustainability Report Wins International Award—
cPubs, a division of BrightLeaf Group, won a Distinguished Award in the Society for Technical Communication 2007-2008 International Competition as recognition for its work on the 2007 Dell Sustainability Report. The Distinguished Award is the highest level award in the technical arts competition, which recognizes outstanding accomplishments in visually communicating technical concepts.

STC is a professional organization dedicated to advancing the arts and sciences of technical communication. STC has more than 20,000 members and 153 chapters worldwide.

cPubs was officially re-certified as a Women's Business Enterprise by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). WBENC is the largest third-party certifier of businesses owned and operated by women in the United States. More than 500 US companies and government agencies rely on the WBENC certification as an integral part of their supplier diversity programs.

cPubs Partners with Knowbility—
cPubs and Knowbility have partnered to bring Knowbility’s accessibility services to cPubs’ technology clients. A non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, Knowbility helps corporations and other organizations adapt their products and services to meet federal and state mandates for accessibility for the disabled.

Knowbility’s services include:

•  assessing the accessibility of the client’s website content, product user interfaces, and support documentation and training
•  providing technical guidance during the development of the website, user interface, and supporting documentation and training
•  training client staff on the “how-to’s” and other accessibility topics.

The Distributed Management Task Force, Inc. (DMTF) standards consortia renews annual agreement with cPubs. Serving as DMTF’s virtual information development group, cPubs provides technical writing, editing, and desktop publishing services to members of the DMTF technical committees. DMTF, developer of the Common Information Model (CIM), is the industry organization leading the development, adoption and interoperability of management standards and initiatives for enterprise and Internet environments. DMTF has more than 3,000 active participants, including Board member companies 3Com, Cisco Systems, Dell Inc., Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Intel, Microsoft, NEC, Novell, Oracle, Sun Microsystems, and Veritas.

cPubs Web Content Team Marks 60th Schlumberger Website: The cPubs Web Content Team recently completed development of its 60th website for Schlumberger, a global organization. The websites range from simple to highly complex internal and external sites. cPubs has been providing web development services for Schlumberger divisions around the world since 1995.

cPubs Marks 75th Dell Training Project: The cPubs Learning Development Team recently marked the completion of their 75th training project for Dell Inc. The training projects have included interactive web-based courses, classroom instruction and materials, and blended solutions. Students have included Dell and third-party engineering groups, product support staff, and inside-sales personnel throughout the U.S., Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

"When you call Dell to order your computer, the Dell sales rep you talk to may have received some of their product or service knowledge from one of our courses", says Jane Scott, CEO.

cPubs has successfully served Dell for over seven years in various Human Resources, Learning, Engineering, and Information Development departments. cPubs' services have included instructional design, writing, graphics and multimedia development, quality assurance, translation management, audio in multiple languages, project management, and process improvement.

cPubs CEO Accepted into "Birthing of Giants" Program on MIT Campus: Our CEO, Jane Scott, has been accepted into the third and final year of the Birthing of Giants - Class of 2004. Ranked by Inc. Magazine as the #1 executive educational program of its kind, "BOG" is jointly hosted by the MIT Enterprise Forum, Inc. Magazine, and the Young Entrepreneurs’ Organization (YEO). Held on the MIT campus, this program brings together young entrepreneurs from around the world once a year for a period of three years. Attendance is limited to 60 participants who are selected from a worldwide field of applicants by representatives of MIT, Inc. Magazine, and YEO.

The program's intense leadership-focused curriculum covers the six fundamental areas of business: Management, Finance, Human Resources, Marketing & Sales, Operations, and Research & Development. The faculty consists of the best in entrepreneurial professors from MIT, Harvard, and Babson, as well as the world's top entrepreneurs from the pages of Inc. Magazine.

The BOG program has graduated more than 400 participants around the globe, and has "birthed" such entrepreneurial giants as Ted Leonsis (AOL) and Jim McCann (1-800-FLOWERS).
