Axalto
Challenge: The Axalto Smart Cards software development team requires daily technical writing and project management support in order to produce the programmer documentation that ships with their software applications.

cPubs Solution: Located on the Axalto site, the cPubs-Smart Card documentation team provides daily support to the Axalto software development team. The cPubs team creates “from scratch” programmer’s guides, reference guides, and other documentation for a broad range of Smart Card products. The core team consists of two senior technical writers, each with over 15 years of experience in software technical writing and project management. The core team is expanded during peak workloads, adding a technical illustrator or technical editor as needed to meet additional project demands.

Dell Inc.
Challenge: Dell is a leading computer manufacturer that serves a worldwide market. They routinely face the challenge of producing interactive, web-based training modules that ensure their inside sales teams are knowledgeable about the latest Dell products and can accurately identify the right product solutions for each customer. Due to their rapid product development environment, Dell needs to develop an ongoing series of high-quality courses routinely, quickly, and efficently.

cPubs Solution: Working within Dell's preferred course authoring environment, cPubs collaborates with Dell engineering managers, product marketing managers, and subject matter experts to create online training that effectively blends text, interactions, animations, and graphics. cPubs consistently delivers high-quality courses on time and under budget without the problems often associated with high-speed, continuous development. The courses are distributed to Dell personnel located in the Americas, Europe, Middle East, and Africa.

Schlumberger Oilfield Services
Challenge: Schlumberger Oilfield Services is a provider of services, solutions, and technology to the global petroleum industry. They faced the challenge of producing a CD-ROM based course that would train oilfield engineers on using the latest version of their premier oilfield data acquisition software.

cPubs Solution: Working closely with the Schlumberger software development team, the cPubs E-learning team developed a three-part, 90-minute interactive course that was well-received by management, technical staff, and field users. The CD-ROM based course replaced the typical software release notes, increasing user acceptance and reducing their learning curve.

Emerson Process Management
Challenge: Emerson Process Management develops computer-based automation systems for the process industries (e.g., systems for the monitoring and control of continuous processes in the oil and gas, pharmaceutical, and specialty chemical industries). Their DeltaV product development team requires daily technical writing support in order to produce the variety of documentation that ships with their products.

cPubs Solution: cPubs provides ongoing technical documentation support of the DeltaV product, having supported the earlier PROVOX project. The current team includes three full-time technical writers and one on-call technical illustrator. Deliverables include system administrator guides, user guides for field engineers, online help systems, and other technical materials. Documents are published for hardcopy publication, CD-ROM distribution, and web distribution.
